Which cranberry and D-mannose supplements can I put under my own brand?

Four example formulas are listed: two tablets and two capsules. Your brand takes a formula as listed, or the doses are changed to your specification. Amounts are those printed per tablet or capsule unless the table says otherwise; the full composition, with excipients, is sent on request.

What does 50:1 mean on a cranberry extract label?

It is the extract ratio: 50 parts of fresh berries are processed into 1 part of extract. At 300 mg of extract 50:1 in a tablet, the berries behind it weigh 300 × 50 = 15,000 mg, and a label can state that equivalent next to the extract amount.

The carton prints the extract amount and, if your market allows it, the equivalent in fresh berries; our reply gives the figure the specification carries. If you need a set standardisation, such as a marker and a minimum content, name it in the enquiry, and our reply confirms whether the extract meets it. Another ratio, another strength or a standardised extract is a formula of your own, and a sample is developed first; the rights to a formula developed for you are set in the contract.

Can D-mannose go into a blister?

Yes: D-mannose is a capsule in the example above, at 400 mg per capsule with cranberry extract 50:1 at 2 mg, and capsules are sealed in blisters, each in its own cavity. Tooling is in place for capsules of size 0 long, 0 and 00. A capsule outside those sizes goes into a blister too: a forming set is made for it, and its time and price are confirmed in our reply.

A D-mannose tablet, a capsule of another strength, or a D-mannose powder in sachets is a formula of your own, and our reply confirms the form. Which blister film suits cranberry tablets and D-mannose capsules?

PVC, PVC/PVDC and cold-formed aluminium (alu-alu) are offered, and the film is confirmed in our reply once we have the formula and the unit. The choice turns on how readily the formula takes up moisture and on the cavity depth. PVC/PVDC adds barrier to PVC, and alu-alu is the highest-barrier class of the three.

The cavity can be up to 24 mm deep in PVC and up to 10 mm in aluminium, so film and cavity are chosen together. Your own unit sealed in the film is the check that matters; figures and sources are on blister films.

How do I show vitamin C and cranberry on the label?

Print cranberry as milligrams of extract per tablet or capsule, with the ratio, as the formulas above are printed. Cranberry extract and D-mannose have no nutrient reference value, because Annex XIII, Part A of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 lists vitamins and minerals only.

Vitamin C does: the reference value is 80 mg, so 90 mg in a tablet is 90 ÷ 80 = 112.5% NRV, which the two tablets above print as 112% and 112.5%. In the capsule example, vitamin C 40 mg is 50% and vitamin B3 20 mg against 16 mg is 125%. The percentage depends on the portion your carton recommends, and you approve the artwork before print.

Is cranberry or D-mannose sold as a supplement in every market?

The authority of the country of sale sets the status of the product, and in some markets D-mannose or a cranberry extract can fall under medicine rules depending on how it is presented. What is the minimum order for private label cranberry, and how long does it take?

Blisters: from 2,000 cartons printed for your brand and at least 4,000 blisters, with 6 to 10 weeks of production, on a listed formula or your own. A repeat order keeps the first order's minimum, and shipping is added.

What documents come with a batch, and can the carton be Arabic, French or halal?

Each batch carries a Certificate of Analysis and a specification, and the carton shows batch number, production date and expiry date. Shelf life is 24 months as standard. Certificate of Free Sale, Certificate of Manufacture, apostille and consular legalisation are arranged where a market asks; see export documents.
