Can vitamin E softgels go into a blister?

Yes. Softgels are sealed in blisters on the Uhlmann B 1240, on the same line as tablets and hard capsules, and the finished blisters are cartoned on the IMA IC 150. A softgel, capsule or tablet of any size goes into a blister.

The tooling in place covers six tablet sizes (ovals of 22 × 10, 20 × 9.5 and 16 × 8 mm, rounds of 13, 12 and 11 mm) and three capsule sizes (0 long, 0 and 00). If your 180 mg capsule or a large omega-3 softgel falls outside them, a forming set is made for it, with term and price confirmed in our reply. More by form: capsules in blisters and tablets in blisters.

Which blister film suits vitamin E softgels?

PVC, PVC/PVDC and cold-formed aluminium (alu-alu) are offered, and the film is confirmed in our reply once we have the formula and the unit size. Barrier need and cavity depth decide it.

On the Uhlmann B 1240 the cavity can be up to 24 mm deep in PVC and up to 10 mm in aluminium, so a large softgel may take one film and need a different set for the other. PVC/PVDC adds barrier to PVC, and alu-alu is the highest-barrier class of the three. A sample of your own product sealed in the film settles the pairing; figures and sources are on blister films.

What form of vitamin E goes into a private label softgel?

The omega-3 softgels on the list print vitamin E as tocopheryl acetate in one case and as D-alpha-tocopherol in another, while the 400 IU capsule prints the amount, 180 mg (400 IU), without naming the form. Name the form you want in the enquiry, and the reply confirms it against the formula.

A different form or a new strength is a formula of your own: a sample is developed first, the softgel of your own is quoted with your project, and the rights to a formula developed for you are set in the contract. A listed formula goes to your brand as it is, or with the doses changed.

How do I show the vitamin E dose and %NRV on the label?

Print the vitamin E per daily portion in milligrams and, beside it, the percentage of the nutrient reference value. The EU reference value for vitamin E is 12 mg, set in Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, Annex XIII, Part A, so the percentage is the amount divided by 12 mg:

Vitamin E per daily portion% NRV
3.3 mg27.5%
5 mg42%
12 mg100%
18 mg150%
30 mg250%
180 mg1,500%

The portion is the one your carton recommends for a day, so the same softgel shows a different figure on a carton that says two softgels than on one that says one. Some products on the list also print IU beside milligrams; the unit on your carton follows the rules of your market, and you approve the artwork before print.

What is the maximum vitamin E dose I can sell in my country?

EU maximum amounts for vitamins in food supplements are provided for in Article 5 of Directive 2002/46/EC; until they are set, member states apply national limits, and outside the EU the authority of each market sets them. Your importer confirms the limit for the target market before the artwork is approved, and the strength on the carton follows it.

State the strength in the enquiry and the reply confirms it. The carton is laid out to the rules your importer gives us, or printed to your own artwork. Regional pages: the Middle East and Africa. Your importer files the registration in the country of sale with our documents; see export documents.

Can the vitamin E carton be printed in Arabic or French, and can it be halal?

Yes to both. Label and carton are printed in the language of the country of sale, to its rules, with a printed leaflet in the carton made to your artwork. Steps: Arabic and French packaging.

Halal is arranged per batch when your market asks for it: a certification company visits and issues the certificate, or an auditor is present while the batch is made. Softgels have a bovine gelatine shell unless the formula states otherwise, so mention halal in the enquiry and the route is agreed before the run. More on halal supplements.

What is the minimum order for private label vitamin E, and how long does it take?

The minimum is 2,000 cartons printed for your brand, at least 4,000 blisters, and production takes 6 to 10 weeks; for a softgel, the reply confirms how these figures apply to your unit. Shipping is added, and a repeat order carries the same minimum as the first.

Bottles in stock packaging are ordered separately: a ready-made formula from 100 units with production from 2 weeks, and a softgel of your own quoted with your project. See minimum order quantity and lead times.

What documents come with each batch of vitamin E softgels?

Every batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis and a specification, and the carton carries the batch number, production date and expiry date. Shelf life is 24 months as standard. Copies of the site certificates (ISO 22000, GMP and HACCP; FDA registered), with numbers, go to clients on request.

For the destination file we arrange the export documents a market asks for: Certificate of Free Sale, Certificate of Manufacture, apostille and consular legalisation. See export documents.

How do I get a sample of a private label vitamin E softgel?

Send an enquiry with your shortlisted formulas, the form, the quantity and the country of sale. We reply within 24 hours, Monday to Friday, and a ready-made formula reaches you as a sample of the existing product before you order. After that come artwork approval, production, sealing on the Uhlmann B 1240, cartoning on the IMA IC 150, and delivery EXW by default, FCA or DAP on request. The quote is made for your enquiry.

Blister or bottle: which suits my vitamin E product?

A blister suits softgels, capsules and tablets of any size: from 2,000 cartons and at least 4,000 blisters, in 6 to 10 weeks, with each unit sealed in its own cavity. A bottle starts smaller and sooner. Which pack holds a product longer depends on the product, as the worked case on blister films shows. What each choice costs you in run size, time or risk:
