Can a turmeric capsule go into a blister, whatever its size?
Yes. Turmeric capsules are sealed on the Uhlmann B 1240, and a capsule of any size goes into a blister. The tooling in place covers three capsule sizes: 0 long, 0 and 00. A capsule outside them gets a forming set made for it, and the term and price of the set are confirmed in our reply.
Turmeric fills are heavy, so the fill weight of your formula sets the capsule size, and the size sets the cavity. Capsules are gelatine or vegan HPMC; name the shell in the enquiry. Turmeric powder or curcumin and piperine: which formula do I choose?
The 600 mg and 500 mg formulas are named by the amount of turmeric per capsule, and the third formula is named by its curcumin and piperine. All three pair the turmeric ingredient with 5 mg of black pepper or piperine per capsule. Choosing between them means choosing between a powder and a curcumin ingredient, and that choice sets the fill weight, the capsule size and your label wording.
State in the enquiry which one you mean, the part of the plant and the specification you want, such as a curcuminoid level, and the reply confirms what the plant can fill. A level or an extract outside the listed formulas is a formula of your own: a sample is developed first, and the rights to it are set in the contract. A listed formula goes to your brand as it is, or with the doses changed.
Which blister film suits turmeric capsules?
PVC, PVC/PVDC and cold-formed aluminium (alu-alu) are offered, and the film is confirmed in our reply once we have the formula and the capsule size. Moisture uptake of the formula and cavity depth decide it.
A plant powder is best judged on a sample, because the real capsule in the real film shows how the pair behaves. On the Uhlmann B 1240 the cavity can be up to 24 mm deep in PVC and up to 10 mm in aluminium. PVC/PVDC adds barrier to PVC, and alu-alu is the highest-barrier class of the three. How do I show the turmeric dose on the label?
Print each ingredient per daily portion in milligrams. Turmeric, curcumin, ginger, black pepper and piperine are botanical or plant-derived ingredients with no nutrient reference value, so the label shows milligrams and no %NRV column.
The portion is the one your carton recommends for a day, so the same capsule shows a different figure on a carton that says two capsules than on one that says one. For the 600 mg formula, one capsule a day is 600 mg of turmeric powder and 5 mg of black pepper powder. You approve the artwork before print.
What rules apply to turmeric and piperine in my country?
The authority of each country of sale sets the status of a plant ingredient and the level you can sell, and your importer confirms it before the artwork is approved. The strength and the wording on the carton follow that answer.

Can the turmeric carton be printed in Arabic or French, and can it be halal?

Halal is arranged per batch when your market asks for it: a certification company visits and issues the certificate, or an auditor is present while the batch is made.
