Private label calcium tablets in blisters

HYPERPHARM makes calcium tablets under your brand, as white label or private label, sealed in blisters inside a printed carton. A blister run starts from 2,000 cartons (at least 4,000 blisters) and takes 6 to 10 weeks of production. Three example calcium formulas are listed below, and each batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis.

Which calcium tablets can I put under my own brand?

Three example formulas are listed: calcium with vitamin D3, calcium with magnesium, zinc and D3, and an electrolyte tablet with calcium. Your brand takes a formula as listed, or we change the doses to your specification. The first two exist at more than one strength, shown side by side below, so you can pick the one closest to your label. Amounts are those printed per tablet unless the table says otherwise; the full composition with excipients is sent on request.

Can a large calcium tablet go into a blister?

Yes. A calcium tablet of any size goes into a blister: the tooling in place covers the common sizes, and a tablet outside them gets a forming set made for it. The term and the price of that set are confirmed in our reply, once we have the tablet dimensions.

On the Uhlmann B 1240 the tablet tooling covers six sizes: ovals of 22 × 10, 20 × 9.5 and 16 × 8 mm, and rounds of 13, 12 and 11 mm. Send the size of the tablet you press, or the formula, and the reply names the cavity. More by form: tablets in blisters.

Which calcium salt goes into a private label tablet?

The two specifications on the factory list use two salts: calcium carbonate in the calcium and D3 tablet, and calcium citrate in the calcium, magnesium, zinc and D3 tablet. The strength B calcium and D3 tablet is also calcium as carbonate. Name the salt and the strength in the enquiry, and the reply says whether it is a listed formula.

The specifications name the other ingredients too: the calcium and D3 tablet uses microcrystalline cellulose as bulking agent and a carnauba wax coat, and the four-ingredient tablet carries magnesium oxide and zinc oxide with a hydroxypropyl methylcellulose shell. Another salt is a formula of your own, confirmed in our reply; a sample is developed first, and the rights to the formula are set in the contract.

Which blister film suits calcium tablets?

PVC, PVC/PVDC and cold-formed aluminium (alu-alu) are offered, and the film is confirmed in our reply once we have the formula and the tablet size. Cavity depth and the moisture uptake of the formula decide it.

On the Uhlmann B 1240 the cavity can be up to 24 mm deep in PVC and up to 10 mm in aluminium, so a thick calcium tablet may suit one film better than the other. PVC/PVDC adds barrier to PVC, and alu-alu is the highest-barrier class of the three. A sample of your own tablet sealed in the film settles the pairing; figures and sources are on blister films.

How do I show calcium and %NRV on the label?

Print the calcium per daily portion in milligrams and, beside it, the percentage of the nutrient reference value. The EU reference value is 800 mg for calcium and 5 µg for vitamin D, both in Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, Annex XIII, Part A. The percentage is the amount divided by the reference value:

Calcium per daily portion% NRV
125 mg15.6%
400 mg50%
500 mg62.5%
800 mg100%
1,000 mg125%

The portion is the one your carton recommends for a day, so the calcium and D3 tablet shows 50% NRV for one tablet and 100% for two. That is why the formulas above are given per 1 tablet and per 2 tablets. You approve the artwork before print.

What is the maximum calcium dose I can sell in my country?

EU maximum amounts for minerals in food supplements are provided for in Article 5 of Directive 2002/46/EC; until they are set, member states apply national limits, and outside the EU the authority of each market sets them. Your importer confirms the limit for the target market before the artwork is approved, and the strength on the carton follows it.

State the strength in the enquiry and the reply confirms it. The carton is laid out to the rules your importer gives us, or printed to your own artwork. Regional pages: the Middle East and Africa. Your importer files the registration in the country of sale with our documents; see export documents.

Can the calcium carton be printed in Arabic or French, and can it be halal?

Yes to both. Label and carton are printed in the language of the country of sale, to its rules, with a printed leaflet in the carton made to your artwork. Steps: Arabic and French packaging.

Halal is arranged per batch when your market asks for it: a certification company visits and issues the certificate, or an auditor is present while the batch is made. Mention it in the enquiry and the route is agreed before the run. More on halal supplements.

What is the minimum order for private label calcium, and how long does it take?

The minimum is 2,000 cartons printed for your brand, at least 4,000 blisters, and production takes 6 to 10 weeks, on a listed formula or your own. Shipping is added, and a repeat order carries the same minimum as the first.

Bottles in stock packaging are ordered separately: a ready-made formula from 100 units with production from 2 weeks, your own formula from 500 bottles per product with production from 4 weeks. See minimum order quantity and lead times.

What documents come with each batch of calcium tablets?

Every batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis and a specification, and the carton carries the batch number, production date and expiry date. Shelf life is 24 months as standard. Copies of the site certificates (ISO 22000, GMP and HACCP; FDA registered), with numbers, go to clients on request.

For the destination file we arrange the export documents a market asks for: Certificate of Free Sale, Certificate of Manufacture, apostille and consular legalisation. See export documents.

How do I get a sample of a private label calcium tablet?

Send an enquiry with your shortlisted formulas, the strength, the quantity and the country of sale. We reply within 24 hours, Monday to Friday, and a ready-made formula reaches you as a sample of the existing product before you order. After that come artwork approval, production, sealing on the Uhlmann B 1240, cartoning on the IMA IC 150, and delivery EXW by default, FCA or DAP on request. The quote is made for your enquiry.

Blister or bottle: which suits my calcium product?

A blister suits calcium tablets of any size: from 2,000 cartons and at least 4,000 blisters, in 6 to 10 weeks, with each tablet sealed in its own cavity. A bottle starts smaller and sooner. Which pack holds a product longer depends on the product, as the worked case on blister films shows. What each choice costs you in run size, time or risk:
