Selenium tablet or capsule: which goes into a blister?
Both do, in any size. Tooling in place on the Uhlmann B 1240 covers six tablet sizes and three capsule sizes: ovals of 22 × 10, 20 × 9.5 and 16 × 8 mm, rounds of 13, 12 and 11 mm, and capsules of size 0 long, 0 and 00. Capsules are gelatine or vegan HPMC.
A combination tablet goes through the same steps as a single one. If a tablet or capsule falls outside those sizes, a forming set is made for it, and its term and price are confirmed in our reply. What selenium strengths and forms can I get in a private label tablet?
The single tablet on the list carries selenium as L-selenomethionine at 100 µg, the vitamin combination carries 200 µg, and the capsule also carries 200 µg. Name the strength you want in the enquiry, and the reply says whether it is a listed strength.
Another selenium form is a formula of your own: the enquiry names the form, the reply confirms it, and a sample is developed first. A listed formula goes to your brand as it is, or with the doses changed; the rights to a formula developed for you are set in the contract.
Which blister film suits selenium tablets?
PVC, PVC/PVDC and cold-formed aluminium (alu-alu) are offered, and the film is confirmed in our reply once we have the formula and the unit size. Moisture uptake of the formula and cavity depth decide it.
On the Uhlmann B 1240 the cavity can be up to 24 mm deep in PVC and up to 10 mm in aluminium. PVC/PVDC adds barrier to PVC, and alu-alu is the highest-barrier class of the three. A sample of your own product sealed in the film settles the pairing; figures and sources are on blister films.
How do I show the selenium dose and %NRV on the label?
Print the selenium per daily portion in micrograms and, beside it, the percentage of the nutrient reference value. The EU reference value for selenium is 55 µg, set in Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, Annex XIII, Part A, so the percentage is the amount divided by 55 µg:

The portion is the one your carton recommends for a day, so a carton that says two tablets doubles the figure. The percentage on your carton is worked out for your dose and confirmed in our reply, and you approve the artwork before print.
What is the maximum selenium dose I can sell in my country?
EU maximum amounts for minerals in food supplements are provided for in Article 5 of Directive 2002/46/EC; until they are set, member states apply national limits, and outside the EU the authority of each market sets them. Your importer confirms the limit for the target market before the artwork is approved, and the strength on the carton follows it.

Can the selenium carton be printed in Arabic or French, and can it be halal?

What documents come with each batch of selenium tablets?
Every batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis and a specification, and the carton carries the batch number, production date and expiry date. Shelf life is 24 months as standard. Copies of the site certificates (ISO 22000, GMP and HACCP; FDA registered), with numbers, go to clients on request.
