Which omega-3 formulas are in production?

Nine are listed here, all softgels. They are a selection from the ready-made products list of the manufacturing group, shown with their names and strengths as they stand there. In the names or on the specification, EPA and DHA are given per softgel, so compare formulas on those figures and not on the weight of the oil.

TG or EE fish oil, fish gelatin or algal oil: what changes in the softgel and the label?

Three things in the formula name matter before the blister does: the oil form, the shell and the EPA and DHA amounts.

  • TG vs EE. EE is ethyl ester and TG is triglyceride, the two forms in which the fish oil is supplied. The 330/220 and the 500/250 formulas are listed in both forms, with the same stated amounts, so the choice is a specification decision for your brand and not a change in the stated EPA and DHA.
  • Fish gelatin, fish oil and algal oil. One formula has a fish-gelatin shell. The algal oil softgel is described as vegan. The fish oil softgels are fish products. Say which one you need in the enquiry and the artwork follows the composition.
  • EPA and DHA per softgel. The weight in the name is the weight of the oil, and EPA and DHA are only a part of it. The names give their amounts per softgel (for example 330 and 220, or 500 and 250), and the full composition confirms them.

For the label, fish and products made from it are declared as allergens under EU food labelling rules (Regulation (EU) 1169/2011, Annex II), and the exceptions listed in that entry do not cover fish oil. For another market, the importer confirms the rules of the country of sale and the carton is built to them. The real softgel size is shown by the sample.

Can omega-3 softgels go into a blister, and which size?

Yes, softgels are sealed on the same Uhlmann B 1240 as tablets and hard capsules. The tooling list we have confirmed names tablet and capsule sizes only, so we do not state a softgel size here.

  • Tablets (for reference): oval 22 × 10, 20 × 9.5 and 16 × 8 mm, and round 13, 12 and 11 mm.
  • Hard capsules (for reference): sizes 0 long (0EL), 0 and 00.
  • Softgels: send the softgel size, or the sample, with the enquiry. We confirm the cavity and the terms of the run in our reply.

A blister of your own design, or a size outside the tooling in place, starts from 25,000 cartons or 50,000 blisters, on terms agreed per project. One blister holds one kind of softgel, so a fish oil and an algal oil are two blisters, and they can share a carton (1 to 4 blisters to a carton). More on the forms: capsules in blisters and tablets in blisters.

What does the destination market decide?

Which label wording, which documents and whether any registration applies is settled by the country of sale. The importer there confirms the rules; the carton follows them. Product registration in that country is for the brand owner to do.

The group the plant belongs to has more than 25 years of production, 70+ specialists and exports to 42 countries; these are figures of the group, not of HYPERPHARM OÜ, registered in 2019. Its main markets are the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon, and many clients in Africa are already supplied. See Middle East and Africa.

For hot, humid destinations and for the language of the pack, see blister packaging for hot and humid climates and Arabic and French packaging. Halal certification is arranged for the specific product rather than for the plant as a whole, so name the formula and the market in the enquiry.

What documents come with each batch?

Each batch is shipped with its Certificate of Analysis and specification. The shelf life is 24 months as standard, and the expiry date and batch number are shown on the carton, applied during carton printing or when the blisters are packed into it.

ISO 22000, GMP and HACCP: the site is certified, with BM Certification as the auditing body, and it is FDA registered. This GMP follows the food supplements guide and is not pharmaceutical GMP. Certificate copies, numbers included, are sent to clients when they ask. See quality and batch documents.

How do I ask for a sample and the full composition?

An enquiry with your shortlisted formulas starts it, and we reply within 24 hours, Monday to Friday. The order then takes seven steps:

  1. Enquiry: format, ready-made or own formula, quantity, market, and the softgel size if you know it.
  2. Sample: the existing product, for a ready-made formula; sample development for a formula of your own.
  3. Approval: the sample comes first, then label and carton artwork, and you approve both before it is printed.
  4. Production: from 2 weeks for a ready-made formula in stock packaging and from 4 weeks for your own; a blister run takes 6 to 10 weeks.
  5. Blister and carton: softgels are sealed on an Uhlmann B 1240 and put into cartons on an IMA IC 150.
  6. Documents: a Certificate of Analysis and a specification travel with each batch.
  7. Delivery: EXW by default, with FCA or DAP available on request.

Prices stay off the site and every enquiry receives its own quote.

What does your product decide?

With omega-3 the softgel size and the oil form settle more of the blister than the brief does. What each case changes, and what it costs you in run size, time or risk:

Your choiceWhat changesWhat it costs you

Questions buyers ask about private label omega-3

Can omega-3 fish oil softgels go into a blister under my own brand?

Yes. Softgels are sealed on the same Uhlmann B 1240 as tablets and hard capsules, under lidding foil printed for your brand, in a printed carton with 1 to 4 blisters. The tooling list names no softgel sizes, so we confirm the cavity for your softgel in our reply.

What is the minimum order for omega-3 in blisters?

A blister run starts from 2,000 cartons printed for your brand, at least 4,000 blisters. For a softgel we confirm in our reply how this applies to your size. Other minimums are on minimum order quantity.

How long does production take?

For a blister run, production takes 6 to 10 weeks and shipping is added; we confirm in our reply how this applies to your softgel. In stock packaging the same formula is produced from 2 weeks when it is ready-made and from 4 weeks when it is your own. See lead times.

Can I order white label omega-3 in bottles with a low minimum?

Yes. For bottles and other stock packaging, a ready-made formula starts from 100 units and your own from 500 bottles per product. Blisters have a minimum of their own.

What is the difference between TG and EE fish oil?

They are two chemical forms of the oil: triglyceride (TG) and ethyl ester (EE). Some formulas are listed in both forms with the same stated EPA and DHA. Tell us which form your specification needs.

Which formulas state EPA and DHA per softgel?

Most fish oil formulas do, in the name or on the specification: 90 and 60 mg, 180 and 120 mg, 330 and 220 mg, or 500 and 250 mg. The omega 3-6-9 softgel lists 72 and 48 mg on its specification. The full composition confirms each figure.

Is there a vegan omega-3 softgel?

The algal oil softgel (500 mg, of which 200 mg omega-3) is described as vegan. The fish oil softgels are not, and the fish-gelatin softgel is still a fish product. The full composition gives the shell for each.

Can I have a different EPA and DHA ratio or my own oil blend?

Tell us what you want. Another ratio, oil or added ingredient is treated as your own formula, and a softgel formula of your own is set with your project. We say in our reply what that means for sample and run.

What documents come with a batch?

Each batch is supplied with a Certificate of Analysis and a specification. Certificate copies for the site (ISO 22000, GMP, HACCP certified; FDA registered) can be requested and include their numbers.

Can the carton be in Arabic or French?

Yes. Label and carton are made to the rules of the country of sale, as your importer confirms them, from a design done at the plant or from your own artwork. More on Arabic and French packaging.

Can I get a sample before I order?

Yes. For a ready-made formula you receive a sample of the existing product. It shows the real size of the softgel and with it whether a blister cavity can be offered.
