As a liquid supplement contract manufacturer, we make the syrup or oil for your brand, delivered in bottles under your label.
What is the minimum order for syrups and oils?
From 100 L for a syrup and from 20 L for an oil, counted in litres rather than in bottles. Name the fill you plan; whether it can be filled is confirmed with your quote.
These are the figures on minimum order quantity, where the minimums by format sit side by side.
Two ways to use the figure:
- From the minimum to bottles. Choose a fill and divide; the next section shows how.
- From your sales plan to litres. Multiply the bottles your distributor can sell within the shelf life by the fill. For example, with a fill you choose of 120 ml, 1,200 bottles come to 144 L by arithmetic, which is above the 100 L syrup minimum.
How many bottles will 100 L give me?
It depends on the fill you choose: by arithmetic, 100 L of syrup gives 400 bottles at 250 ml and 200 bottles at 500 ml, and 20 L of oil gives 250 bottles at 80 ml.
To work it out for any fill, multiply the litres by 1,000 and divide by the fill in millilitres; the litres stay fixed while the bottle count moves with the fill.
| A fill you choose | Bottles (arithmetic) from 100 L of syrup | Bottles (arithmetic) from 20 L of oil |
|---|---|---|
| 80 ml | 1,250 | 250 |
| 100 ml | 1,000 | 200 |
| 250 ml | 400 | 80 |
| 500 ml | 200 | 40 |
The table is arithmetic only, and the fills in it are examples, not a list of bottle sizes on offer. The bottle count for your product is confirmed with the quote.
A smaller fill turns the same litres into more bottles, more labels and more units to sell; weigh it against what your market buys, not against the minimum alone.
Which bottle will my product have?
The one agreed for your product before the label is laid out. This page does not list bottle sizes or materials; name the fill you plan, and whether it can be filled is confirmed with your quote.
Three choices shape the label, so they come before the artwork:
- The fill. It sets the bottle count from your litres and the number of servings in each bottle.
- The dose. The label states the dose per serving; settle the wording with your importer before you approve the artwork.
- The country of sale. Its label rules, which your importer confirms, set what the label must say and in which languages.
How long does a liquid order take?
For syrups and oils the production time is given in our reply to your enquiry, and transport is added on top of it.
Before production come your enquiry, a sample and your two approvals: the sample first, then the label artwork. How production time is counted is explained on the lead times page. A change after approval, such as a new composition or new label text, goes back for approval.
After production, the batch leaves with its documents, EXW by default or FCA or DAP on request; the route sets when it reaches you.
How long do syrups and oils keep?
The standard shelf life is 24 months, and the figure for your product is the one stated in its product documents.
A shelf life belongs to one formula in one pack, kept under the storage condition on its label. Ingredients react differently to air, light and heat, so a new composition or a new bottle makes it a new question.
Plan with the date rather than the figure: dispatch, transit, customs and the importer's warehouse all use part of the 24 months. How to work back from the shelf life your market wants left on arrival: shelf life and storage.
Syrup, oil or a blister: which format suits my product?
The dose form decides the pack: a syrup or an oil goes into a bottle, while tablets, capsules and softgels can be sealed in blisters, the format this site is built around.
| Format | Pack | Minimum counted in | What it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tablets, capsules, softgels | Blister in a carton printed for your brand, 1 to 4 blisters per carton; or a bottle | Blister: cartons and blisters. Bottle: units or bottles | A dose kept sealed in its own cavity until it is pressed out |
| Drink cubes | Each cube in its own blister | Set for each product | A dose added to water |
| Effervescent tablets | Tube | Tubes | A tablet dissolved in water before drinking |
| Powders | Jar, doy-pack or sachet | Kilograms | A serving measured out, or one serving to a sachet |
| Syrups and oils | Bottle | Litres | A dose taken as a liquid |
In a blister, each dose stays sealed in its own cavity until it is pressed out, a broken cavity shows at a glance, and both the carton and the lidding foil carry your brand. A blister run of tablets or capsules starts from 2,000 cartons printed for your brand, at least 4,000 blisters, with production in 6 to 10 weeks. Tooling is in place for set tablet and capsule sizes, listed on blister packing.
A syrup or an oil is not sealed in a blister here. If the active ingredients you want could be made as a tablet or a capsule instead, that is a new formula: it is developed into a sample first, and the sample shows whether its size fits the tooling in place.
Neither pack is better by default; the product, the way it is taken and the market decide. How the pack and the climate meet: blister packaging for hot and humid markets.
What will an importer in Africa or the Gulf ask about a syrup or oil?
Usually five things: the label, the dose, the documents, the shelf life left on arrival and the climate. Settle each with your importer before you approve the label artwork.
- The label. We lay out and print the label to the rules of your country of sale, which your importer confirms, and artwork you already have can be used instead. Language rules country by country: Arabic and French on supplement packaging.
- The dose. The label states the dose per serving; settle the wording with your importer before you approve the artwork.
- The documents. The Certificate of Analysis and specification come with each batch, and copies of the plant's certificates are sent on request. Where the country of sale asks for documents to be legalised, legalisation is arranged as well. What each market asks for: export documents.
- Shelf life on arrival. Ask your importer how much of the 24 months must remain when the goods land, and from which date it is counted; then work back to the latest date the goods can leave the plant.
- The climate. WHO's list of stability conditions gives Nigeria and Ghana a long-term condition of 30 °C/75% RH, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt 30 °C/65% RH, and Lebanon and Morocco 25 °C/60% RH; these correspond to zones IVb, IVa and II. The list was written for medicines, so for a supplement it is a reference, not law. Ghana's 2013 guideline for supplements, for one, asks for a stability study to be run in the container closure system in which the product will be marketed in Ghana. All countries: climatic zones by country.
Registering the product in the country of sale is the brand owner's step, or the importer's; we supply the batch documents the file draws on. Halal certification, if you need it, is arranged for the specific product rather than for the plant as a whole: halal supplements.
What your product decides
Each line shows what a choice costs you in order size, time or risk.
| Your product or plan | What changes | What it costs you |
|---|---|---|
| A syrup or an oil | Counted in litres: from 100 L for a syrup, from 20 L for an oil | Order: the fill you choose sets the bottle count; for example, at 250 ml the arithmetic gives 400 bottles from 100 L of syrup |
| A composition of your own | Developed into a sample before production | Time: sample development and your two approvals come before production, and the production time is given in our reply to your enquiry |
| A dose stated on the label | The label states the dose per serving; the wording is settled with your importer | Risk: a change after approval goes back for approval; settle the wording before you approve the artwork |
| A market that wants its own language on the label | The label is laid out to rules your importer confirms | Time before print: name the market before the artwork is approved |
| A regulator that ties stability data to the pack, as Ghana's does | The regulator wants the study in the pack you will sell there; ask your importer | Time: Ghana's guideline names testing until the end of the shelf life |
| A file that needs your format named in the certificate scope | The scope names tablets, capsules and powders | Risk: a file that will not accept a site certificate; check before you order |
| Active ingredients that could be a tablet or capsule | A blister becomes possible, as a new formula | Order: from 2,000 cartons, at least 4,000 blisters, for a size with tooling in place; another size from 25,000 cartons or 50,000 blisters, terms agreed per project. Time: 6 to 10 weeks of production |
Questions buyers ask about liquid supplements
What is the minimum order for private label liquid supplements?
A syrup order starts from 100 L and an oil order from 20 L, counted in litres. How many bottles that makes depends on the fill you choose: for example, at 250 ml the arithmetic gives 400 bottles from 100 L of syrup. The bottle count for your product is confirmed with the quote.
Which bottle size can I choose?
Name the fill you plan; whether it can be filled is confirmed with your quote. This page does not list bottle sizes or materials. Packaging of your own can be used on request.
How long does production of a syrup or oil take?
For syrups and oils the production time is given in our reply to your enquiry. Your approvals of the sample and the label artwork come before production, and transport is added after it. How production time is counted is explained on lead times.
What shelf life do syrups and oils carry?
24 months as standard, stated in the product documents. Ingredients react differently to air, light and heat, so the figure that counts is the one in the documents for your product.
Which documents come with each batch?
A Certificate of Analysis and the product specification. Copies of the plant's certificates with their numbers are sent on request. Where the country of sale asks for documents to be legalised, legalisation is arranged as well. The plant is ISO 22000, GMP and HACCP certified, with GMP for food supplements, not pharmaceutical GMP, and registered with the US FDA as a food facility.
Are syrups and oils named in the scope of the certificates?
No. The scope of the ISO 22000, GMP and HACCP certificates names tablets, capsules and powders; for syrups and oils they stand as the certificates of the site. If a buyer or a registration file needs the format named, raise it before you order.
Can the label be in Arabic or French?
Yes. The label is laid out to the rules of the country of sale, which your importer confirms, so it carries the languages that market asks for. Artwork you already have can be used instead, and only the version you have approved is printed.
Can a syrup or oil be halal certified?
Halal certification is arranged for the specific product rather than for the plant as a whole. Say so in your enquiry and name the market; which certificate is accepted depends on the country of sale, as set out on halal supplements.
Can I have a sample before the first order?
Yes. A composition of your own is developed into a sample first, and production starts only after you have approved the sample and then the label artwork.
Can my syrup or oil go into a blister?
No. Blisters here hold tablets, capsules and softgels, and drink cubes each in their own blister; syrups and oils go into bottles. If your active ingredients can be made as a tablet or capsule, that is a new formula, and a blister run of tablets or capsules starts from 2,000 cartons printed for your brand, at least 4,000 blisters.
Do you ship to Africa and the Gulf, and register the product there?
We ship worldwide, EXW by default, FCA or DAP on request. The manufacturing group behind HYPERPHARM already supplies many clients in Africa, and its main markets are the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon. Registration in the country of sale is the brand owner's step or the importer's; we provide the batch documents for that file.
